As some of you will know, last year I decided to set myself a Challenge.
I had been working with Herbalife Nutrition for nearly 6 years and felt now was the time to set myself another goal, but I needed something more than just doing something for me that would keep me focused and on track.
So, I decided in April 2018 that in September 2018 I would cycle to our Herbalife Extravaganza in Paris.
When I went to buy my road bike, I think the guy in Halfords thought I was mad.
I had never ridden on a road bike.
I had never done more than 12 miles in a day.
I had never done any group riding.
And best of all I was terrified to ride on the road.
He asked why I was doing a London to Paris Ride and I told him it was to raise money for Children, who were carers, and that it was what our own Herbalife Nutrition Foundation supported. I think he still thought I was mad.
At this point, I hadn’t even qualified to attend the event, but I went ahead and signed up for the ride and paid for it, hoping I’d qualify for our training event along the way….which of course I did.
We all set off from London
On Day 1 I came off my bike, whilst we were still in England. They wanted me to go to the hospital to get stitches in my chin (thankfully, I was ok other than this and some scratches (think my judo training kicked in subconsciously!), but I decided we needed to carry on. I didn’t want to miss the Ferry!
Anyway, long story short we arrived in Paris had our picture taken at the Eiffel Tower then continued our cycle to finish at the Arena where our Extravaganza would be held.
There I got one of the most amazing surprises of my life. Both of my daughters had turned up to be there when I arrived.
It was a complete and utter surprise and needless to say I ended up in tears…if you’re friends with me on facebook, no doubt you will have seen the video. It still makes me cry now.
Anyway, the point of this is that I did it. I had has focus, a great group of like minded people to support me along the way, with an amazing Company called Central Challenge that supported us along the way.
I also managed to raise £1,000 with the support of my lovely family and friends to whom I am very grateful. As a Team of 37, we raised £20,000 for the charity we were raising money for Action for Children.
So, I enjoyed it all so much, I am doing it again this year. This time a team of 72 of us are cycling London to Cologne and aiming to raise £30,000. I would like to again raise £1,000 and therefore I am asking if you could kindly make a small donation. This year we are raising money for our own Herbalife Nutrition Foundation.

However, after all this is said and done, the other thing I’d like to finish with is, what Challenge will you set yourself this year.
Whatever, it is go for it. I hope my story will inspire you to set yourself a challenge and achieve it.
I know you will do it and look forward to hearing what it is that you set yourself.
